Welcome

Greeting

Welcome to the Home Of The

Greensboro Radio Aero Modelers (GRAMS)

Academy of Model Aeronautics Chartered Remote Control Aircraft Club #481, Flying High Since 1959!

Come Fly With Us!!

The Greensboro Radio Aeromodelers (GRAMS) Club is made up of people just like you. We may be standing on the ground, but our minds and imaginations are in the air. We love aviation!

If you are new to the hobby, you are starting off in a great way—research. Learning to fly radio control (RC) aircraft successfully is best done with help from resources like hobby shops and websites. They will point you to the most important resource of all—an instructor. There is a reason the trainers used by the Air Force have two seats! Using an instructor minimizes crashes and maximizes your education. You will learn more and have a lot more fun. Use the contact us in the menu and send us a message and we will get right back to you!

Would you like to try RC Flying Absolutely Free??!!

Contact our club trainers:

  • Jim Widdis- jdrummer60@hotmail.com
  • Tim White - tjrtmaster@yahoo.com
  • Mike Martin- rcflyn@mindspring.com

If you are an experienced flyer coming from another club or site, we hope you will find our club a good fit. Our club is more than 67 years old. We have a well-maintained site and continue to develop it into an even nicer facility constantly. Our club is full of helpful, friendly members. We fly a lot of different aircraft using glow, gas, and electric power. We are helicopter- and 3D-flight friendly, too. We have builders, sport and competition pilots, and everything in between. You will be among friends with the same enthusiasm for aircraft as you do!

    Grams Turn 67 !

    posted 2 weeks ago

The AMA has honored GRAMS with a certificate recognizing 67 years of dedication to R/C aviation. Although the certificate reflects the 50-year milestone, GRAMS has continued to grow and thrive for 67 remarkable years, with the next recognition coming at 75 years.

Clubs like GRAMS are the heart of this hobby. The AMA honors long-standing clubs that reach 25-, 50-, 75-, and 100-year anniversaries, and GRAMS will also be preserved in the National Model Aviation Museum archives and included in the AMA’s permanent club record.

This milestone belongs to each and every member who has contributed time, energy, friendship, and passion over the years. GRAMS would not be the outstanding club it is today without each of you. Thank you for helping make GRAMS such a special group to be part of.
